La peinture a occupé trois volumes; deux volumes renfermeront ce que la Statuaire a vu ressusciter des fouilles de la Campanie, c'est à dire, les Bronzes, Bas reliefs, Bustes et Statues; car, selon Pline, cette dénomination s'applique particulièrement à l'art de jeter en bronze, et les productions du ciseau appartiennent à la sculpture.
