By: (1872-1939)

"When Father Carves the Duck" is a delightful story that follows a young boy as he watches his father meticulously carve a duck for dinner. The author, Ernest Vincent Wright, has a charming way of describing the scene, making the reader feel like they are right there in the kitchen with the characters.

The story not only showcases the skill and precision required to carve a duck, but also highlights the bond between the father and son. The father's careful attention to detail serves as a metaphor for the care and love he puts into his parenting. The boy's admiration for his father's skill is palpable throughout the story.

Overall, "When Father Carves the Duck" is a heartwarming tale that will resonate with readers of all ages. It is a quick read that manages to leave a lasting impression. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet and uplifting story.

Book Description:
Ernest Vincent Wright was an American author known for his book Gadsby, a 50,000-word novel which, except for the introduction and a note at the end, did not use the letter "e". The biographical details of his life are unclear. A 2002 article in the Village Voice by Ed Park said he might have been English by birth but was more probably American. The article said he might have served in the navy and that he has been incorrectly called a graduate of MIT. The article says that he attended a vocational high school attached to MIT in 1888 but there is no record that he graduated. Park said rumors that Wright died within hours of Gadsby being published are untrue. - Summary by Wikipedia
