Reviewer: Juliana - 24th of January, 2016 - January 24, 2016 Subject: Review A splendid book from a splendid writer! I adore "In search of the castaways", in fact, it is my favorite book. Pity the translation isn't complete. I am reading the book in French now and I'm finding more detail there. However, the crucial chapters are unabridged and that's really good!!! The plot is superb, and so are the characters. I especially liked Lady Glenarvan and her husband. And those three chapters with the maori tribe... They still give me a shiver, even though I know them almost by heart. Talking about the narration, I liked its being collaborative. Somehow, the voices seem to match each chapter. All in all, I give it 100 out of 100. No, 150 out of 100!!! |
Reviewer: Julie - September 11, 2015 Subject: Review I loved this book!!!! It was REALLY long but very well written and narrated. Read this one before you read the Mysterious Island book. I also liked the fact that he had women in this book. He usually doesn't add women to his stories. :0) |
