The poem alone, without notes and commentary, is available separately as e text 27219. This text is intended for users whose text readers cannot use the "real" (Unicode/UTF 8) version of the file. Greek words in the Notes and Variae Lectiones have been transliterated and shown between marks; Hebrew is similarly marked. A few rare characters have been "unpacked" and shown in brackets: [ a] ("a" with macron or overline). The "oe" ligature is shown as separate letters without further marking. In the original book, each page of the poem had three sections: the poem itself; the Variae Lectiones; and the commentary. For this e text the last two items have been reversed, with the commentary placed immediately after each short section of text, followed by the Variae Lectiones. In the Notes and Variae, line numbers in brackets were added by the transcriber for consistency with the HTML version, where explicit numbers were needed for linking. Duplicate numbers in the original are unchanged. Known errors in cross references are noted in brackets immediately after each entry. Not all errors were found.
