¿Desde cuándo lleva su nombre el «Molino silencioso»? No lo sé. Desde que lo conozco es un viejo edificio medio derruido, resto lastimoso de una época ya desaparecida.

Descascarados y sin techo, sus muros, que los años desmoronan, se alzan hacia el cielo dejando paso libre a todos los vientos. Dos grandes muelas redondas, que sin duda trabajaron valientemente en otro tiempo, han roto el armazón carcomido que las sostenía, y, arrastradas por su propio peso, se han hundido profundamente en el suelo.

La rueda grande permanece suspendida de través entre los dos soportes podridos. Las paletas han desaparecido; sólo los rayos se alzan todavía en el aire, como brazos que se tienden hacia el cielo para implorar el golpe de gracia.
