Book Description:
The most famous translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam is that by Edward Fitzgerald into English, of which five editions were published between 1859 and 1889. Many translations into other languages have been published since that time. A number of translators, who were not conversant with the Persian language, chose to translate one of Fitzgerald's versions rather than the original. This project features several of these translations, based on the first, fourth and fifth editions of Fitzgerald.
