Confessions (Latin: Confessiones) is the name of an autobiographical work, consisting of 13 books, by St. Augustine of Hippo, written between AD 397 and AD 398. Modern English translations of it are sometimes published under the title The Confessions of St. Augustine in order to distinguish the book from other books with similar titles, such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Confessions. |

Reviewer: Willow - June 14, 2020 Subject: Mark Barnes presents this book beautifully Excellent reading by Mark Barnes shows how well he knows and understands St Augustine’s marvelous book. This narrator’s perfect emphasis, speed, and clarity allow the author to speak through his voice to our minds and hearts. |
Reviewer: Daniel - April 8, 2018 Subject: The first part is awesome (Reviewers: please replace my previous review with this one) The first reader is very good. But then an ESL reader takes over who is hard to understand. Too bad. |
Reviewer: Daniel - April 8, 2018 Subject: The first part is awesome The reader of the first section is excellent. But then the lady takes over. The lady who ends every sentence as if she is striking a C, then a G, then an E, on a piano. Her delivery is so sing-song and artificial that I am forced to discard any piece of listening literature onto which she forces herself. I could not finish this one. |
